Image
I would like to start my journey from the very first time, especially when I have already known about what is Aupair since I was in High School around 2012. I really want to apply for it, but it was just my desire, and ended up forgetting about it because I was too focused on my examination and was busy getting to my dream university. Along the way in 2019, after I was graduated from my University, I was busy again with my life and completely forgot about Aupair. I was just focused on my life to earn money and be productive as a Set Movie Designer until, at the beginning of 2020, the whole globe event hit me, just like everyone also. I lose my job because I usually work in the Movie industry, which obligates me to work moving from one place to another place so often, and it has to stop all of sudden. I was facing there is no income that I can earn and also didn't know what should I have done at that time... Furthermore, after 3 months staye...

Preparation to go to SWEDEN

After passing such a long process to submitting your visa application, waiting for approximately 3 months with a lot of question will your visa get granted or not(?), and finally here comes the time when The migration officer send you the email and they said that YOUR VISA HAS BEEN GRANTED. waaaiiiiitttt whatttt? CONGRATULATION for you... and then what? haha. You will have to arrange an appointment for making a residence permit in Sweden embassy after you got your visa issued. The embassy will expect you to take biometric procedures such as having a photo shot and fingerprint with a few interview questions. Moreover, you have to wait around a week to take your Residence card permit that you can use as your identification card while you live in Sweden.   So here it is my sort of list about what you have to prepare so you don't miss anything from your a year packing preparation to live abroad :  Typical food from your home country (coffee...

How to find the right Host Family for an Aupair??

Image
There are several aspects that you have to put more concern on before deciding which kind of Host Family you want to live with. Basically, the entire of the points were coming from the way you make your definition about what is AuPair, in the first hand and what kind of treat do you want them to be during your period of stay. I am aware of this case because I've been in a situation where I get worst experience. I won't say that it was totally my HF mistake. I have the role of making the snowball mistake also in this case. There is no perfection in every relationship obviously, let alone in HF and AuPair's relationship that we barely know each other. But, that is why I don't want anyone to repeat the same mistake as me, that I have to change HF two times and live by relying on my relatives in between. I wish you can improve yourself by following these tips :) *cheers*. It is scary though, especially if you are living alone abroad and do not know a...

Image
First of all, this experience was based on my journey at the time I was applying my application to be an AuPair in Sweden in 2020. I came from a country out of Europe so, it is mandatory for me to get a visa before landing in one of the countries in Europe, especially in this case in Sweden. However, with no further due ;) I would love to share my experience, the steps, and what you have to prepare before being an AuPair in Sweden from the first place I got an offer till my visa got granted (in detail 😁). You're also always welcome to get in touch with me through the comments section under the Blog if you have any questions regarding the AuPair application specifically, about the Sweden application. FYI you don't have to have a Swedish language certificate (yet) to start the application. As long as you can speak in English everything would be fine. 1. Check if your profile matches the Migrationverket AuPair requirement.     Migratio...
